Abstract
Stock price fluctuations pose challenges for investors in making optimal decisions. This study evaluates the performance of LSTM with two input features and hybrid models combining LSTM with CNN, ANN, and RNN, enhanced by buy–sell–hold signals derived from the moving average crossover method. Hyperparameter tuning is applied to identify optimal configurations for stock index data across multiple countries. Results show that the hybrid and two-feature models outperform the standalone LSTM in 18 of the 20 stock indices and achieve comparable performance in one additional index. Among them, LSTM–CNN emerges as the most effective model, achieving the best performance in 10 of the 20 countries across both GDP-based country groups, with improvement levels reaching up to 76% and 88% in Groups 2 and 1, respectively. These findings indicate that integrating trading signals and hybrid architectures improves stock price prediction and supports investment decision-making.
Over the years, individuals have been investing in the stock market as a source of passive income. However, such investments are associated with high risk due to the unpredictable behaviour of stock prices. To address this issue, we implemented predictive models to provide investors with stock price predictions to faci...

This paper finds that the hybrid model yields higher prediction accuracy and smaller errors than the single model by comparing the results of both models.
View the results as a methodological contribution rather than direct evidence of practical investment value, given the modest trend-classification accuracy and the lack of trading back testing, transaction costs, or risk-adjusted performance measures.

. The stock performance of BYD (002594.SZ) is attracting increasing attention. This research aims to use eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) to predict BYD’s next trading day’s closing price and compare their performances. The research used BYD stock data from 2015 to 2025. The researc...

Historically predicting stock prices has been difficult as well as noisy in markets, since stocks are influenced by a variety of price movements, and can rapidly shift into new regimes or states. Generally traditional predictive models have had limited success with forecasting because they will over-fit to the historic...
