Abstract

Introduction: Nursing is a professional discipline that integrates theoretical knowledge with clinical practice. The primary goal of nursing education is to ensure professional competence by holistically developing students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning domains. The rapid transformation in healthcare services, technological advancements, and changing student profiles increase the need for innovative educational methods. The Pecha Kucha presentation technique, which highlights effective communication and summarization skills, has gained attention in nursing education. Therefore, it is necessary to comprehensively evaluate its impact on students' learning domains. Objective: This study was conducted to examine training programs delivered to nursing students using the Pecha Kucha method. Method: Designed as a systematic review, searches were conducted across PubMed, Cochrane, Google Scholar, EBSCOhost, ULAKBIM, Scopus, Web of Science, Wiley, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, and TR Dizin databases without publication year restrictions, using the keywords ("Nursing student" OR student) AND (Pechakucha OR Pecha-kucha). Inclusion criteria were structured using the PICOS model. Applying exclusion criteria to 1,000 initial studies resulted in a final sample of 8 studies. The flowchart and reporting were prepared according to the PRISMA guidelines. Findings: A total of 8 studies were included in the review: 5 experimental and 3 quasi-experimental studies, all published in Turkish or English with full-text access available. The sample sizes of the studies ranged from 30 to 230. The studies assessed various learning outcomes, such as knowledge level in the cognitive domain, satisfaction and anxiety levels in the affective domain, and presentation skills or clinical application skills in the psychomotor domain. Conclusion: Overall, the studies indicate that the Pecha Kucha presentation technique has a positive effect on learning outcomes. Accordingly, it is believed that the Pecha Kucha presentation technique can be used as an alternative to or a supplement for traditional presentations.
