THE ROLE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN THE FIELDS OF ECONOMY AND EDUCATION

Sep 2026 · Science Bulletin · 0 citations

Abstract

In recent years, AI technologies have begun to transform the economy and education sectors almost simultaneously — but through very different mechanisms. This article explores this gap. In the economy, the change manifests itself in the form of automation of production processes, the expansion of forecasting systems, and the restructuring of the labor market. Azerbaijan is experiencing these processes in a specific context: in the midst of an accelerated course of digitalization to reduce dependence on oil revenues. In education, the change is different — here AI is reshaping the structure of the teacher-student relationship: personalized learning paths, adaptive assessment systems. The main argument of the article is that the effective application of these technologies in both areas requires institutional preparation rather than technical preparation — without a regulatory framework, without the massification of digital literacy, AI will not expand either economic equality or access to education. This study, based on a systematic review of the existing literature, applies this argument to the Azerbaijani context, concluding with specific policy recommendations for both areas.
