Design and Implementation of a Blockchain-based Evidence Storage System for Traceable Agricultural Product Warehousing
Abstract
Facing data-tampering risks and ambiguous accountability in agricultural product warehousing under rural revitalization, this paper presents a traceable evidence-storage system that combines blockchain with the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS). Built around the full lifecycle of purchase, inbound, outbound, and product management, the system applies role-based access control to assign collaborative permissions to purchasers, inbound clerks, warehouse managers, and other stakeholders. After business records are committed locally, standardized evidence envelopes are formed asynchronously: complete payloads are stored on IPFS to obtain content identifiers, while content hashes, transaction parties, and timestamps are anchored on a consortium chain. The design further supports database–IPFS–blockchain cross-verification and receiver-side acceptance, enabling trustworthy end-to-end warehousing traceability. Experiments indicate that the proposed approach maintains operational efficiency while improving data integrity, tamper resistance, and process-level accountability.
