Abstract

The language of the press is a style that satisfies the information needs of society and conveys information about current events to a wide audience. The translation of this language is not just the transfer of words from one language to another, but also a complex process involving the preservation of style, context and content. Lexical, syntactic and semantic difficulties arise, especially when translating from Azerbaijani into Russian. When translating, idiomatic expressions of press texts, words and terms reflecting national realities, as well as stylistic differences require special attention. The main problems are differences in the syntactic structure between Azerbaijani and Russian, different forms of news presentation, linguistic style, and neutral translation of politically tinged expressions. This topic compares literal and functional approaches, while emphasizing the need to take into account contextual relevance and principles of intercultural communication. At the same time, the role of the translator in modern media discourse is considered, as well as issues of accuracy and balance of adaptation in translation. This study shows that in order to successfully translate the language of the press, it is necessary to take into account not only the knowledge of the language, but also the features of the journalistic style, the purpose of the text and the expectations of the readership. Thus, the translation process requires an approach from both a linguistic and a communicative point of view.
