Wiring Study of Replacement and Optimization of Micom Type OCR and CBF Protection Relays on the 150Kv Power Transformer Bay Kupang Panel in GIS Sawahan
Abstract
General Background Substations and gas insulated substations demand highly reliable electrical systems to maintain continuous energy distribution. Specific Background Securing these high-voltage transmission units requires accurate overcurrent and circuit breaker failure mechanisms to isolate operational faults rapidly. Knowledge Gap Transitioning from conventional devices to modern digital components necessitates rigorous configuration verification and parameter coordination to prevent dangerous tripping delays and terminal short circuits. Aims This study evaluates the physical integration and setting calibration of digital control devices on a transformer bay panel. Results Field implementation utilized secondary injection testing with a 7A alternating current at 50Hz for 0.2 seconds to verify the newly integrated input and output terminals. Evaluation of the existing parameters revealed significant misalignments in the primary overcurrent configurations, specifically a 21.24 percent current error and a -96.45 percent time error during stage one operations, mandating immediate parameter resetting. Conversely, stage two and stage three settings demonstrated acceptable current errors of 0.03 percent and 0.09 percent respectively, confirming their operational compliance. Novelty The research documents a systematic, field-tested verification protocol mapping physical terminal connections directly to digital error analysis in an active high-voltage environment. Implications Executing precise physical integration and correcting initial parameter discrepancies secures continuous distribution, prevents breaker failures, and guarantees operational safety. Highlights: Secondary injection testing utilizing a 7A current verified the physical terminal integration of the newly installed digital components. Parameter evaluation identified a severe timing deviation of -96.45 percent in the primary overcurrent settings, requiring immediate corrective adjustments. Correcting initial misalignments prevents breaker failures and secures continuous energy distribution across the substation network.
