The role of intermediary actors in driving just adaptation
Abstract
Just adaptation refers to the process of adapting to climate change in ways that are fair, equitable, and inclusive, especially for those most vulnerable to its impacts. However, there are significant challenges in realizing justice principles across different scales of adaptation. Drawing on consultations with 22 climate adaptation stakeholders in Kenya, we argue for the important role of intermediary actors in addressing these challenges.
