Comprehensive Analysis of Factors Affecting Air Quality Based on Multi-Dimensional Data Insights
Abstract
: This study employed multi-dimensional data and advanced statistical methods to investigate the air quality in Dazu District, Chongqing. Under a complete frame, the paper did the hourly air quality data from 2018 to 2023 of 8 monitoring stations and combined meteorological and socio-economic data. After performing stepwise multiple linear regression, it was found that the main cause of the air quality index by the factors was fine particulate matter (PM2.5) and inhalable particulate matter (PM10). This finding accounts for 52.3% and 23.7% of the variations in AQI, respectively, and ozone (O ₃ ) contributes 9.0%. This proves that photochemical pollution is becoming more dangerous. When approaching the industrial area, the air quality decreases (β= -0.171, p < 0.01), but there is no clear relationship with the population density. Meteorological factors can also have an effect on changes in the environment. Each season has a different impact on air quality. Winters usually see pollution go up because of more precipitation. On the contrary, it will be good on rainy days in spring and autumn, when the air can be washed and removed by wet deposition. In summer, the high-speed wind held the buildup of 03 down.
