Impacto bioactivo de residuos vegetales y extractos etanólicos de Chenopodium murale L. sobre la germinación y desarrollo inicial de Allium fistulosum L.
Abstract
Allelopathic effects of plant residues and ethanolic extracts of Chenopodium murale L. on chives were evaluated. Chive seeds were treated with root, stem, leaf, flower, and whole-plant tissues of C. murale. Moreover, ethanolic extracts from root, stem, leaf, and flower were applied at concentrations of 18 mg ml⁻¹ and 9 mg ml⁻¹. Germination, dry matter, and root and shoot length were measured, using a randomized design and Tukey’s test (p ≤ 0.05) for mean comparisons. All plant residues significantly reduced germination, root and shoot length, and dry matter of chives. Root and flower extracts reduced germination and dry matter, and all extracts tested suppressed root and shoot length. Findings demonstrate the allelopathic potential of C. murale and suggest its possible use as an alternative tool in integrated weed management strategies.
