On the question of innovation and novelty in physical education
Abstract
Introduction and purpose of the study. The current state of development of physical education in Ukraine is characterized by the active introduction of innovations, new pedagogical technologies, methods, etc. It is believed that the use of innovations improves the quality of the educational process in physical education, increases motivation for physical exercises, etc. At the same time, many experts express doubts about the ability of innovations to significantly increase the effectiveness of physical education. Analysis of innovations in physical education. The objectives of the study: 1) to analyze innovations in the context of the tasks that Ukrainian society sets for physical education today; 2) to establish possible approaches to the study and evaluation of innovative processes in physical education. Methods. The study uses the method of analysis of literature sources. Results. It has been established that it is advisable to evaluate innovations in physical education from the point of view of compliance with the current demand of society. It has also been found that the vast majority of innovations in this area are related to the implementation of the health-adaptive model of physical education. Instead, for socially-oriented physical education, it is natural to widely use classical approaches. It has been established that when evaluating innovations, one of the most important is such an indicator as novelty. To establish it in physical education, it is advisable to use the theory of abstract properties of M. S. Burgin, which allows you to consider multidimensional properties with characteristics as coordinate measurements of their scales. Within the framework of this approach, a number of levels and gradations of novelty can also be distinguished. Conclusions: 1. The vast majority of innovations in the field of physical education are associated with the implementation of the health-adaptive model, while for the socially-oriented one, the widespread use of classical approaches is natural. 2. When evaluating innovations, one of the most important is such an indicator as novelty. To establish it in physical education, it is advisable to use the theory of abstract properties of M. S. Burgin.
