Abstract

The low productivity of gelatik eggplant due to decreasing soil organic matter and suboptimal fertilization necessitates testing the combination of vermicompost and MKP to improve vegetative growth and crop yield. This study aims to determine the optimal combination of vermicompost and mono potassium phosphate fertilizers that yields the best productivity in gelatik eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) of the provita F1 variety. The experiment took place from July through September 2025 on dry land located in Dusun Lio, RT. 04 RW. 04, Cimahi Village, Klari Sub-district, Karawang Regency. The study adopted a single-factor Randomized Complete Block Design framework involving nine treatments arranged in three replications, for a total 27 experimental units. Each experimental unit consisted of four plants, which were used as observation samples. The collected data were analyzed through Analysis of Variance, with mean separations determined via Duncan’s Multiple Range Test at a significance level of 5%. Results indicated that the combined application of vermicompost and MKP fertilizers significantly influenced both plant growth and yield components. Treatment I (18 tons·ha-1 of vermicompost + 150 kg·ha-1 of MKP) outperformed all other treatments. The use of a combination of 18 tons·ha-1 of vermicompost and 150 kg·ha-1 of MKP fertilizer is recommended to improve the growth and yield of gelatik eggplant var. provita F1.
