No robust alterations in resting-state FC were identified in adolescents with BED compared with healthy controls, however, given the modest sample size and limited temporal sampling, subtle connectivity differences cannot be excluded.
Abstract
Objective
Binge eating disorder (BED) commonly emerges during adolescence, yet little is known about intrinsic brain network function in this developmental period. This study examined resting-state functional connectivity (FC) in adolescents with BED.
Method
19 adolescents with BED and 20 sex-, age-, and BMI Z-score-matched controls (12-18 years) underwent resting-state fMRI. FC was examined using an exploratory ROI-to-ROI analysis, and eating disorder symptoms were assessed using the Eating Disorder Examination Questionnaire (EDE-Q).
Results
No between-group differences in ROI-to-ROI functional connectivity survived false discovery rate correction for multiple comparisons.
Discussion
No robust alterations in resting-state FC were identified in adolescents with BED compared with healthy controls. However, given the modest sample size and limited temporal sampling, subtle connectivity differences cannot be excluded.
BACKGROUND
Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) involves affective instability, impaired emotion regulation, and self-injurious behavior, often linked to childhood adversity. Although prefrontal and insular abnormalities have been reported, the relationship between structural and functional changes in BPD is not well...

The findings suggest that the level of pubertal maturation is associated with the longitudinal stability of large-scale brain networks in girls, and a subnetwork positively associated with Tanner breast stage is identified.

Background Early-life parental separation due to rural labor migration represents a prevalent form of early-life social adversity; however, its neural correlates in adulthood remain insufficiently understood, particularly from the perspective of dynamic brain network organization. Methods In this study, resting-state f...

ABSTRACT Background Fluoxetine is an established pharmacological intervention for bulimia nervosa (BN); however, the macroscopic functional network remodeling underlying its efficacy in suppressing eating impulsivity remains poorly understood. Methods Fifty‐eight patients with BN and 58 healthy controls assessed at bot...

Importance
Bulimia nervosa (BN) ranks second among eating disorders in both prevalence and disease burden, but its neurobiology is poorly understood. Progress has been limited by neuroimaging studies with inconsistent findings across small samples.
Objective
To identify reliable structural brain correlates of BN diag...
