A virtual-resource-block-based cross-domain power pooling framework, in which satellite, HAPS, and terrestrial transmit powers are abstracted and allocated from a unified global pool, using a priority-based rounding heuristic combined with global water-filling.
Abstract
In space-air-ground integrated networks (SAGINs), limited high altitude platform station (HAPS) power can leave allocated spectrum underused under independent-domain scheduling. This paper proposes a virtual-resource-block-based cross-domain power pooling framework, in which satellite, HAPS, and terrestrial transmit powers are abstracted and allocated from a unified global pool. A priority-based rounding heuristic is combined with global water-filling, and Monte Carlo simulations use log-normal shadow fading with Rayleigh fading for terrestrial links, Rician fading for HAPS links, and no small-scale fading for satellite links. The proposed scheme achieves an average per-user throughput of 56.28 Mbps, with a 95% confidence interval of ±0.19 Mbps for the mean and an approximate 95% run-to-run spread of ±2.69 Mbps, improving independent-domain scheduling by 56%, reducing outage probability from 54.0% to 5.0%, and increasing the average per-run minimum user rate to 7.58 Mbps. Paired t-tests verify that throughput improvements over all baselines are statistically significant with p < 0.001.
Time-varying aggregate interference from low-Earth-orbit (LEO) satellites challenges terrestrial-network (TN) protection, whereas conservative control degrades LEO quality of service (QoS). This letter proposes a hierarchical framework combining geometry-based interference estimation, QoS-constrained power control, ada...
High-altitude platform stations (HAPS) are a promising component of non-terrestrial networks (NTNs) for wide-area connectivity. However, serving multiple users over large user footprints requires efficient power-control mechanisms that account for the unique propagation characteristics and strict power constraints of H...

Numerical results show that the optimal common stream power allocation depends on the transmit power, while inter-beam interference under frequency reuse introduces an outage floor absent under orthogonal allocation, providing practical design insights for HAPS-RSMA systems.

High-altitude platform stations (HAPSs) are expected to coexist with terrestrial networks (TNs) to provide seamless wide-area wireless connectivity in future sixth-generation (6G) systems. However, the strong line-of-sight (LoS) propagation of HAPS links introduces severe cross-tier interference under spectrum sharing....
