Analysis of Steel Beam-To-Concrete Column Connection

2026 · Műszaki Tudományos Közlemények · 0 citations · 7 references

Abstract

This study investigates the load-bearing capacity of an external steel beam–to–concrete column connection formed with post-installed anchorage systems, derived from the connection presented in reference. Two connection types are analysed: chemical and mechanical anchor solutions. Both analytical and numerical methods were applied in the investigation. The analytical calculations were carried out based on the European standard EN 1992-4:2018, while the numerical analyses were performed using the Hilti PROFIS Engineering software. The aim of the study is to determine the ultimate moment capacity of the examined connections, identify the governing failure component, and compare the analytical and software-based results. A parametric study was also conducted to evaluate the influence of the anchor embedment depth on the load-bearing capacity of the connection. The comparison of the obtained results with previous studies on steel and composite connections contributes to a deeper understanding of the behaviour of post-installed anchorage systems in steel-to-concrete joints.
