Blockchain - Enabled Electronic Voting System

Oct 2026 · WORLD JOURNAL OF INNOVATION AND MODERN TECHNOLOGY · 0 citations

Abstract

The current era's increasing reliance on digital technology has greatly improved the lives of many individuals. In contrast to the electoral system, which still heavily relies on paper-based methods, concerns regarding security and transparency persist in traditional offline elections. General elections continue to employ a centralized approach, wherein a single organization oversees the entire process. This centralized control poses significant risks, as it allows for potential tampering with the extensive database. A potential remedy for these problems is the implementation of blockchain technology, which functions on a decentralized network in which the entire database is collectively owned and managed by a multitude of users. Blockchain has previously been applied in systems such as Bitcoin, the decentralized banking system. Incorporating blockchain into the distribution of databases in electronic voting systems can help reduce a major source of database manipulation and fraud. This research delves into the utilization of blockchain algorithms to record voting results from various polling locations. Unlike Bitcoin's Proof of Work mechanism, this project introduces a method based on predetermined node rotation within the blockchain infrastructure
