Bank Credit and Its Impact on Market Value and Trading Volume A Case Study of the Iraqi Stock Exchange for the Period (2023–2024)
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the impact of bank credit directed to the Iraqi economy on market capitalization and trading volume in the Iraqi Stock Exchange during the period 2023–2024. The study adopted a quantitative analytical approach using monthly data consisting of 24 observations, which were analyzed using Excel and SPSS V23 through descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and simple linear regression. The results revealed a positive impact of bank credit on trading volume and a negative impact on market capitalization, indicating that increased bank credit contributes to stimulating trading activity while being associated with a decline in market capitalization. The findings emphasize the important role of bank credit in influencing stock market performance and support efforts to improve credit allocation efficiency, enhance financial stability, and promote sustainable economic growth.
