Abstract

Background-Science Communication Competence (SCC) is essential in 21st century Biology learning. Based on school observations, students' SCC was relatively low, characterized by difficulties in explaining concepts scientifically, asking questions, and providing evidence-based arguments. Objectives-This research aims to: determine students' SSC achievement, determine the feasibility and readability of the media and learning materials, and determine student and teacher responses. Method-This Research and Development study followed the ADDIE model. The product was validated by content, media, and language experts and a field practitioner using a four-point Likert-scale sheet, followed by a readability test of the 9 of the 17 grade XI. Five high-achieving served as experts and twelve novices. The SCC abilities of the expert students were analyzed through pretests and posttests, coding of dialogue transcripts based on 15 SCC indicators by two observers, and direct observation of six key indicators. Meanwhile, the beginner students completed two cognitive posttests. The SCC instrument was adapted from existing questions and content-validated by experts. Data were analyzed descriptively using percentages and mean scores. Results-Expert validation average 94.5% (very feasible), while readability reached 89.6%. Experts' SCC scores increased from 78 to 87, while novices’ cognitive scores increased from 83.9 to 87.3. Dialogue-based SCC achievement reached 88.7%, and direct observation reached 93.3%. Student and teacher responses were results reached 86.8% 92.8%, respectively. Conclusions-Interactive e-worksheet based on the END method is very feasible, has the potential to support students' SCC, and obtains very positive responses from students and teachers.

The impact of agile practices on communication in software development

The study shows that agile practices improve both informal and formal communication, but indicates that, in larger development situations involving multiple external stakeholders, a mismatch of adequate communication mechanisms can sometimes even hinder the communication.

Trajectory Balance: Improved Credit Assignment in GFlowNets

It is proved that any global minimizer of the trajectory balance objective can define a policy that samples exactly from the target distribution, and empirically demonstrate the benefits of the trajectories balance objective for GFlowNet convergence, diversity of generated samples, and robustness to long action sequenc...
