First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Iván Hidalgo-Cenalmor is first author on ‘ NucleiSky enables cross-scale multimodal registration of microscopy data using nuclei constellations’, published in JCS. Iván is a PhD student in the lab of Guillaume Jacquemet at the Turku Bioscience Centre, Turku, Finland, where his work focuses on developing computational and image analysis tools for biological imaging, including microscopy image registration and explainable artificial intelligence.

It is proved that any global minimizer of the trajectory balance objective can define a policy that samples exactly from the target distribution, and empirically demonstrate the benefits of the trajectories balance objective for GFlowNet convergence, diversity of generated samples, and robustness to long action sequenc...
