Abstract
We generally perceive that training text-to-image diffusion models requires heavy compute: it is true if we aim at a comprehensive frontier model. This understanding prevents people from training their own models when getting started in the field. We develop MiniDog, a framework that enables pretraining diffusion transformers in 55 minutes and fine-tuning in another 15 minutes on four 3090 GPUs. For data, we use 26k dog images from ImageNet and caption them for pretraining and use 2k images generated by FLUX.1-schnell for fine-tuning. We precompute the image and text features and cache them for efficiency. For architecture, we use E2E-INVAE for its semantic latent space, a small transformer with 22M parameters, a small Qwen model for text encoding, and in-context conditioning. For training, we use iREPA and an EUPE perception encoder for acceleration. For evaluation, our repository supports FID, HPSv2 score, PickScore, and various VAE reconstruction metrics. The project is open-sourced at https://github.com/Reyhaneesmailizadeh/MiniDog. We do not claim technical novelty.
We introduce LLaDA-Image, a unified framework that pairs a 6B Diffusion Transformer (DiT) trained from scratch with a frozen vision-language understanding module built on the LLaDA2.0-Mini diffusion language model backbone. Instead of relying heavily on paired image-text data from the beginning, we first build a strong...

Modern text-to-image (T2I) systems use internet-scale language pretraining for text-conditioned image generation. We ask whether language pretraining is necessary for strong T2I generation. We introduce Halcyon, a family of early-fusion multimodal autoregressive models pretrained entirely from scratch on GPIC, a datase...

SimLoss is proposed, a reference-free embedding-space objective for single-pass fine-grained image captioning, and results show that embedding-space supervision can recover the quality of multi-stage verification at the latency of a single-pass captioner.

Results show a clear gap between independently combined unimodal encoders and pre-trained vision-language models, while longer captions are associated with higher text-to-image recall and plausible false negatives.

Text-to-image (T2I) platforms typically return several images per prompt so users can explore different visual interpretations and choose one that matches their intent. However, T2I models are usually optimized for single-image quality which comes at a cost of multi-image diversity, limiting this exploration. Diversity...

Image-to-layer decomposition converts a flattened image into editable RGBA layers, enabling element-level editing in design workflows. Existing diffusion-based systems typically adapt large pretrained text-to-image (T2I) models and introduce RGBA autoencoders or variable-layer architectural modules. We revisit this des...
