Abstract
We present a novel framework that integrates NASA’s magnetospheric multiscale (MMS) mission data with advanced theoretical modeling to study nonlinear plasma wave dynamics in space environments. By developing an extended reductive perturbation technique (E-RPT), we derive a modified Korteweg–de Vries (KdV)–Burgers equation with forcing terms that captures higher order nonlinear, dispersive, and dissipative effects in magnetospheric plasmas. Three physically distinct configurations are examined: a complete model, an isothermal plasma approximation, and a practical approximation using second-order quantities. Empirical validation draws on MMS observations in which measured electric fields, magnetic fields, and plasma parameters are normalized and fed into our Solstorm-PY simulation framework. The analysis reproduces observed shock formations, with the system parameters sitting near critical bifurcation thresholds. Our investigation of the nonlinear dynamics encompasses phase-space analysis, stability characterization through eigenvalue distributions, bifurcation analysis across parameter spaces, and computation of Lyapunov exponents. The three configurations display markedly different dynamical regimes, ranging from weakly chaotic to strongly stable behavior. Identifying the critical stability transitions defines viable operating regimes for plasma control systems, laboratory experiments, and turbulence studies. This work establishes a paradigm for data-validated theoretical development in space plasma physics, bridging in situ spacecraft measurements and nonlinear dynamical systems analysis, with direct implications for space weather prediction and plasma control.
Fractional nonlinear evolution equations serve as a fundamental model to capture complex phenomena with memory effects, anomalous dispersion and long-range interaction. In this study, the (2 + 1)-dimensional fractional modified Korteweg–de Vries–Zakharov–Kuznetsov (mKdV–ZK) equation is studied, and its application in...

We develop an explicit closed-form formulation for fluid plasma instabilities in magnetic-field geometries for near-bi-Maxwellian plasmas. Starting from the continuity, momentum, and anisotropic pressure equations, we derive a generalized closed-form expression for the imaginary part of the frequency, expressed in term...
This research studies the modified equal-width Burgers equation, an important model in both fluid dynamics and plasma physics. This model is commonly used to describe the traffic flow, optical pulses in fibers, ion-acoustic plasma waves, shallow water waves, etc. The new P/Q-expansion method, together with the enlarged...

This paper presents a comprehensive analytical and numerical investigation of the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation derived from the heavy ion-acoustic wave (HIAW) model, which governs the evolution of weakly nonlinear wave packets and their chaotic envelope dynamics. The modulational instability (MI), symmetric ins...

Abstract This paper investigates the role of higher-order nonlinearities in the propagation of heavy ion-acoustic shock waves (HIASWs) within a magnetized, collisionless plasma comprising inertial heavy ions and kappa-distributed electrons and positrons. Employing a reductive perturbation technique, we derive a magneti...
