Abstract
The application of composite materials on aircraft wings can not only enhance the structural stiffness of the wing, reduce the weight of the wing, but also decrease the number of mortise-and-tenon joints in the wing structure, resulting in a smoother wing surface and improved aerodynamic performance of the aircraft. In this paper, the wing structure of a low-speed aircraft was designed. Based on the technical specifications of low-speed aircraft wings, the NACA-0012 airfoil and an I-beam single-spar wing structure were selected as the analysis model. Two materials were chosen: 2A12 aluminum alloy and T300/5208 composite. Four-wing models were created with material, ply angle, and ply thickness as variables, and simulation analyses were conducted on these four-wing models using ANSYS. By comparing the mechanical properties of the four wing models, the wing with optimal mechanical performance was selected, providing a certain reference for aircraft design.
Integrating batteries into the wing is a critical design choice in the development of battery-electric aircraft, offering significant benefits for structural weight reduction due to bending relief. To understand the influence of wing-integrated batteries on wing structures, this work investigates the preliminary wing s...

This paper presents research on a butterfly-inspired flapping-wing aircraft, covering three main areas: overall design, aerodynamic analysis, and the construction and flight testing of a proof-of-concept prototype. During the overall design process, a 3D model was created based on a biomimetic butterfly prototype. Usin...
It is noted that in agriculture, fixed-wing unmanned aircraft systems successfully perform the tasks of crop monitoring, pest and disease detection across large areas remote from the operator. Further improvements in unmanned aircraft speed, flight range, and payload capacity can be achieved by reducing aerodynamic dra...
