We establish sharp weighted Rogers--Shephard inequalities for R\'enyi differential entropy. For independent copies $X,X'$ of a log-concave random vector in $\R^n$, we prove $h_p(aX-bX')\le h_p(X)+n\log(a+b)$ for all $a,b>0$ and $1\le p\le\infty$, where orders $1$ and $\infty$ correspond to Shannon entropy and min-entropy, respectively. The Shannon case settles the entropic Rogers--Shephard conjecture of Madiman and Kontoyiannis and its higher-dimensional formulation. For $1\le p<\infty$, equality holds precisely for invertible affine images of random vectors with independent exponential coordinates. At $p=\infty$, the larger equality class is characterized by possibly extended-valued convex potentials that are positively homogeneous of degree one. For every $0<p<1$, uniform laws on sufficiently high-dimensional simplices violate the unweighted bound. Thus $p=1$ is the critical order for this bound to hold in every dimension. The proof combines weighted convex intersections with an exponential lift to a log-affine probability density. At the Shannon endpoint, this lift yields an exact deficit decomposition with a conditional mutual information term for an additive channel with asymmetric Laplace noise.
Let $B_1,\ldots,B_n$ be independent Bernoulli random variables with parameters $p_1,\ldots,p_n$, and let $S=\sum_i B_i$. Hillion and Johnson proved that the Shannon entropy of $S$ is jointly concave in the parameter vector and proposed corresponding critical-order conjectures for R'enyi and Tsallis entropies, with pred...
What becomes of Grothendieck's inequality when its Hilbert-space vectors are replaced by vectors in $\ell_p^r$ and $\ell_{p'}^r$? For an $m\times n$ matrix, we show that the universal dimensional loss is governed not by $r$ alone, but by the effective dimension \[ d=\min\{r,m,n\}. \] More precisely, the optimal constan...
Let $1<p<\infty$, let $X$ be a UMD Banach space, let $1<p<\infty$, and let $L_d$ be the generator of the Ornstein--Uhlenbeck semigroup $(P_d(t))_{t\geq 0}$ on $L^p(\mathbb R^d,\gamma_d;X)$. We prove that the operators $-L_d$ are $R$-sectorial with a common angle strictly smaller than $\pi/2$ and with bounds independent...
We study weighted Bergman spaces of quasiregular mappings on the unit ball in $\mathbb{R}^n$, with weight $(1-|x|)^\alpha$, $\alpha>-1$. For every fixed distortion bound $K\ge1$ and every $p>0$, we characterize Bergman integrability by averaged derivatives. We also give geometric conditions under which integration over...
We study the sharp constant in the differential inequality \[ I(t)I''(t)\geq c\,[I'(t)]^2 \] for Fisher information along the probability-normalized heat flow on $\mathbb R^2$. The unrestricted log-convexity value $c=1$ is false in two dimensions, whereas the known square-root convexity theorem gives the universal valu...
Suppose $X,Y$ are independent random variables with values in a compact abelian group $(G,+)$. We examine the following two entropy power-type inequalities: $h(X+Y)\geq \frac{1}{2}h(X)+\frac{1}{2}h(Y)$ and $h(X+Y)\geq \max\{h(X),h(Y)\}$, where the entropy $h(Z)$ of a $G$-valued random variable $Z$ is defined in terms o...
