Abstract

Abstract This article develops a methodology for the meta-analysis of stage life testing experiments, combining data from s independent tests. Each experiment involves two stress levels, with the lifetime of experimental units at each level following an inverse Weibull distribution. The Khamis–Higgins model is used to relate the distributions across the two stress levels. The shape parameter of the inverse Weibull distribution is assumed constant across all samples, while the scale parameters are allowed to vary. We derive maximum likelihood estimators and asymptotic confidence intervals for the model parameters. Bayesian inference is also conducted; due to the lack of closed-form posterior expressions, Bayes estimates and credible intervals are obtained via Gibbs sampling. An extensive simulation study evaluates the performance of the proposed estimators, and two real datasets are analyzed for illustration. The findings collectively demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.

Reliability Analysis of Weibull Distribution under Unified Progressive Hybrid Censoring in Partially Accelerated Life Tests

This study focuses on estimating reliability for the Weibull distribution within the framework of constant-stress partially accelerated life tests, incorporating the unified Type-I progressive hybrid censoring scheme that has not been previously examined. The unknown parameters of the Weibull model, including accelerat...

Reliability Inference for Time Parameters of the Newly Weibull Extended Model With Biomedical and Industrial Applications

A new 3‐parameter extended Weibull distribution, called Y‐Weibull, is adopted as a more flexible alternative capable of capturing a wide range of hazard‐rate patterns encountered in practical applications. This study develops Bayesian and non‐Bayesian inferential frameworks for the Y‐Weibull distribution under the un...

Estimation of the FGM Bivariate Exponentiated Weibull Distribution under Progressive Type-II Censoring

The bivariate Exponentiated Weibull distribution is a flexible lifetime model for paired survival data. Coupling Exponentiated Weibull margins through the Farlie–Gumbel–Morgenstern (FGM) copula yields the FGM bivariate Exponentiated Weibull (FGMBEW) distribution, which is appropriate for bivariate lifetime data exhibit...

Inference and Prediction for the Burr XII Distribution Under A Generalized Type‐III Hybrid Censoring Scheme

This paper introduces a generalized Type‐III hybrid censoring scheme for reliability data analysis. The scheme combines two failure‐number thresholds with two time limits, so that more failure information can be retained while the testing duration remains controlled. Under this censoring scheme, classical and Bayesia...

Arctan–Weibull Log Logistic Mixture Distribution: Theory and Applications to Lifetime Data

This paper introduces the ArcTangent Weibull Log Logistic Mixture (AT-WLLM) distribution, a novel and flexible lifetime model constructed by applying an arctangent transformation to a mixture of Weibull and log-logistic distribution functions. The proposed model exhibits several desirable properties, including the abil...

Analyzing Copula Dependent Competing Risks Using Step‐Stress Accelerated Life Testing

Through this paper, statistical analysis for the dependent competing risks (CRs) model is introduced in simple step‐stress accelerated life testing (SSALT) under progressive Type‐II censoring (PT‐IIC). Weibull distribution (WD) and Tampered random variable (TRV) are considered to study the failure time of test units....
