Abstract

The case of violence against children that occurred at Little Aresha Day Care in Yogyakarta in 2026 demonstrates a violation of children's fundamental rights in an environment that should provide protection and a sense of security. This study aims to analyze the legal protection afforded to child victims of violence in day care centers from the perspectives of Human Rights and child protection law, as well as to examine the fulfillment of children's rights to receive affection and parental care. This research employs a normative juridical method using statutory, conceptual, and case study approaches. The findings indicate that acts of violence within a day care environment constitute a violation of children's rights to protection, safety, and proper growth and development as guaranteed by Human Rights instruments and Indonesian laws and regulations. In addition to causing physical harm, such violence may also result in psychological trauma that can adversely affect a child's long-term development. This study concludes that the protection of children's rights must be realized through effective law enforcement, comprehensive victim recovery, and the fulfillment of children's rights to safe, nurturing, and affectionate care that supports their optimal development.
