Abstract
Thermoelectric (TE) materials enable direct conversion between thermal and electrical energy, but their conversion efficiency still requires further improvement. Strain engineering has become an effective strategy to modulate the properties of two‐dimensional thermoelectric materials. In this work, we employed first‐principles calculations to investigate the thermoelectric properties of monolayer SrAgISe under biaxial tensile strain ranging from 0% to −6%. At 300 K, the pristine SrAgISe monolayer exhibits an intrinsic

This work demonstrates that biaxial tensile strain is an effective strategy to improve the thermoelectric performance of the SrAgISe monolayer. At the same time, the inclusion of SOC is necessary for a more accurate description of its electronic structure and calculated transport properties.
Strain is an effective approach to enhance the thermoelectric performance of materials. The nanolayered copper-based chalcogenide TlCuS, characterized by its small band gap and ultralow lattice thermal conductivity (κL), has been synthesized and demonstrates potential as a high-performance thermoelectric material. Th...

PbTe is recognized as one of the best intermediate-temperature thermoelectric materials; however, its commercial applications are largely restricted by the comparatively lower performance of its n-type counterpart. Here we show that Peierls-Nabarro stress is manipulated through solute-induced lattice softening, which g...

High‐performance thermoelectric materials are vital to the transition toward clean energy technologies and require a unique combination of electrical and thermal properties. While those properties are often strongly intertwined in conventional materials, topological materials can decouple the electrical and thermal...
We present a comprehensive first-principles investigation into the spin-resolved transport, mechanical, and piezoelectric properties of the two-dimensional (2D) RuO2(MgF)2 ferromagnetic system. The material demonstrates semiconducting behavior with an indirect band gap of 0.99 eV and pronounced spin-polarization alon...
