Hippocampal subfield diffusion abnormalities in Parkinson’s disease with mild cognitive impairment: a volumetric and diffusion MRI study

PD-MCI was characterized by distributed hippocampal diffusivity alterations despite the absence of detectable volumetric differences, and subfield-specific diffusion measures may provide complementary information on cognition-related hippocampal involvement beyond conventional volumetry.

Diffusion Tensor Imaging as a Preliminary Study of White Matter Associations with Surgical Outcome in Mesial Temporal Lobe Epilepsy

It is demonstrated that diffusion-based structural connectivity analysis can distinguish seizure-free from non–seizure-free TLE patients, highlighting the clinical relevance of hippocampus–temporal pole and hippocampus–thalamus pathways in postoperative outcomes.

Relationship between cognitive functioning and diffusion tensor imaging analysis along perivascular spaces as a diffusion magnetic resonance imaging marker of perivascular directional diffusivity in functional seizures after traumatic brain injury.

OBJECTIVE Patients with functional seizures (FS) frequently exhibit deficits in cognitive and functioning measures (CFM) similar in magnitude to those present in epilepsy. An association between glymphatic system function and CFM in various neuropsychiatric conditions has been reported. Our objective was to investigate...

The Role of MRI Volumetric Assessment of Hippocampus and its Parts in Early Diagnosis of Mesial Temporal Lobe Epilepsy in Epileptic Children. A case-control study.

MRI volumetric assessment is a valuable adjunct to conventional MRI for detecting subtle hippocampal and hippocampal subfield volume loss in children with epilepsy, including those with normal conventional MRI findings.

DTI-ALPS index and cognitive performance in temporal lobe epilepsy with and without hippocampal sclerosis: a cross-sectional study.

The DTI‑ALPS index was lower in patients with TLE, particularly those with visually classified HS, and was associated with selected cognitive measures in a group‑specific manner, and these findings do not establish causality or a biological mechanism.

Progressive degeneration of the fornix beyond normal aging in temporal lobe epilepsy: A 10-year longitudinal diffusion imaging study.

Greater longitudinal fornix FA decline with longer disease duration supports preferential vulnerability of hippocampal output pathways and shows progressive white matter degeneration beyond normal aging.
