Anchoring in the Storm: How Does Digital Intelligence Technology Foster Green Innovation Resilience?
Abstract
In an era characterized by dual transformations and climate-induced turbulence, manufacturing firms are compelled to shift their strategic paradigm from static "green growth" to dynamic "green survival." Based on data from Chinese A-share manufacturing listed companies from 2012 to 2023, this study empirically examines the impact mechanisms and boundary conditions of digital intelligence technology on green innovation resilience. The findings indicate that: (1) Digital intelligence technology significantly enhances the green innovation resilience of manufacturing firms. (2) Mechanism tests reveal that digital intelligence technology empowers green innovation resilience through a dual pathway of alleviating financing constraints and improving managerial efficiency. (3) Climate risk attention plays a critical moderating role in this process; specifically, it significantly enhances the marginal contributions of financing constraint alleviation and managerial efficiency improvement to green innovation resilience. (4) Heterogeneity analysis shows that the empowering effect is more pronounced in non-high-tech, non-heavy-polluting, and high-competition industries, as well as in Eastern-based, non-labor-intensive, and upstream firms. This study reveals that only by achieving strategic alignment between digital capabilities and subjective risk perception can firms effectively coordinate resources to maintain green innovation resilience.
