Abstract

Building Information Modeling (BIM) integrates geometric and semantic information, supporting data management throughout the building lifecycle. However, the quality of this information is critical to ensuring interoperability and compliance with requirements. Verifying the adherence of BIM-IFC models to pre-existing technical documentation is a significant challenge, especially in the modeling of projects or existing assets, where a structured BIM Execution Plan (BEP) may not be available. To examine whether BIM-IFC models meet the requirements established in the documentation, the Information Delivery Specification (IDS) is used as a mechanism for formalizing and checking these requirements. This approach was applied to a public project developed by the National Fund for Educational Development. Based on document analysis, a set of requirements was structured in IDS format and validated against the corresponding IFC model. The results indicate a low level of compliance, with 21% of the checks satisfied, highlighting gaps between documentary sources and the digital model. The study reinforces the relevance of IDS in improving information quality in public projects.
