Assessment of the Structure and Efficiency of the Metallurgical Enterprise’s Working Capital

Abstract

Subject. Working capital of a metallurgical enterprise and the efficiency of its use in modern economic conditions. Purpose. Statistical analysis of the structure, dynamics, and efficiency indicators of working capital use at NLMK PJSC. Methods or methodology. The research methodology includes methods of analysis and synthesis, statistical analysis, comparison, grouping, analysis of dynamic series, as well as logical and systematic approaches. Results. The study identified the main structural changes in the current assets of NLMK PJSC for 2022–2024, and determined the trends in their volume and composition. It was found that the turnover of current assets increased, while their profitability and maneuverability decreased, indicating problems in the efficiency of using working capital. Conclusion. The research results confirm the need to improve the metallurgical enterprise's working capital management policy in order to optimize its structure, increase liquidity, and improve profitability in an economically unstable environment.
