Is social media usage among children restricted?
Abstract
Social media has become one of the most important platforms in daily life and a fundamental medium for socialization and information among school-aged children. A complete ban may be counterproductive; instead, emphasis should be placed on fostering critical thinking and digital literacy. Social media can play a positive role in building social relationships and providing online support. It also offers healthcare professionals an opportunity to access authentic information and to help counter health-related misinformation. Future research should therefore focus on developing and evaluating effective interventions that promote responsible online engagement, prevent problematic use, and preserve the benefits of online social support.
