Abstract

Current integration trends in the global economy make intellectual property protection critically important. The spread of counterfeit goods, a systemic threat, causes multifaceted damage: it undermines the positions of copyright holders, distorts the market environment, and creates risks for consumers and national economies. This article examines customs instruments for protecting intellectual property rights, which today play a fundamental role not only in preventing violations but also in creating a predictable business environment in the common market of the Eurasian Economic Union. The author bases her research on an analysis of current customs regulation practices and identifies objective contradictions and threats between economic security goals and existing administrative barriers. The author explores theoretical constructs, regulatory conflicts, and empirical problem areas, and proposes proposals for modernizing control procedures. A key innovative element of the proposed measures is the pilot implementation of blockchain technology to ensure the traceability of intellectual property assets during their cross-border movement within the Eurasian Economic Union. The implementation of blockchain technology will help reduce the volume of illegal trade, simplify interdepartmental and interstate cooperation, and, as a result, ensure the economic security of the Union as a whole.
