The Image of Orpheus in Literature Classes: A Methodological Aspect
Abstract
The article examines the methodological aspects of studying mythology in a special section of the fifth-grade textbook edited by V. Ya. Korovina, the Federal Work Program on Literature, and the Federal Educational Program for Basic General Education. The current state and shortcomings of the teaching materials presented in these textbook and programs are identified. The study reveals the value potential of the “eternal image” of Orpheus, substantiates the identification of principles and stages of mastering this potential, as well as the possibility of studying the myth and its interpretations in the context of axiological analysis. A methodological model for mastering the value potential of the “eternal image” has been developed for literature teachers. This material can be used in extracurricular reading lessons, speech development lessons, final lessons, or electives on literature.
