Abstract

The author, who works at the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies of the University of California, Los Angeles, tells us that he is working on an English edition of Platina, De honesta voluptate et valetudine, and adds: 'it may amuse you to know that if Hannah Glasse really was the sister or half-sister of Lancelot Allgood, I am her great- . . . great-nephew.'
