Peran Guru Pendidikan Agama Islam Dalam Menanamkan Nilai Syukur Melalui Program Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) Pada Peserta Didik Di MTsN 1 Simeulue
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in instilling the value of gratitude among students at MTsN 1 Simeulue (Central Simeulue District) through the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program, as well as to describe the program's implementation and the factors supporting or hindering it. The study employs a field research method with a descriptive qualitative approach, grounded in Thomas Lickona’s character education theory, which encompasses moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action. Data were collected through non-participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that PAI teachers act as facilitators, guides, and role models in fostering an attitude of gratitude. Regarding moral knowing, students understand food as a blessing from Allah SWT. Moral feeling is evidenced by a growing awareness of the need to appreciate food, while moral action is manifested through prayer, reciting hamdalah (praising God), taking appropriate portions, finishing their meals, and maintaining cleanliness. Supporting factors include student awareness, school support, and positive peer influence, whereas inhibiting factors include picky eating, the habit of leaving food unfinished, and family parenting styles.
