PSYCHOMETRIC VALIDATION OF THE URBAN DIGITAL SERVICES USAGE SCALE
Abstract
In the context of the digital transformation of urban environments, the integration of digital platforms, electronic services, and mobile applications into the life of the modern individual has become an essential component of young people’s everyday activity. Despite the active development of research on digitalisation and the Smart City concept, Russian psychology still lacks instruments that make it possible to assess the degree of individuals’ engagement with urban digital services. The aim of the study was to develop and psychometrically validate the Urban Digital Services Usage Scale. The study involved 242 respondents aged 17–23. Internal consistency analysis and correlation analysis were employed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the instrument. The results demonstrated high reliability of the developed scale (Cronbach’s α = 0.809). Positive correlations were identified between the level of urban digital service usage and self-efficacy, internal locus of control, commitment, and risk acceptance. The scale can be used in studies of the psychological characteristics of young people living in high-tech urban environments.
