The findings indicate that pesantren digital transformation should be understood as an institutional policy covering administrative digitalization, learning, curriculum, santri literacy, digital leadership, and quality assurance.
Abstract
Digital transformation has become a strategic issue in pesantren development because Islamic boarding schools are required to preserve Islamic scholarly traditions while adapting to technological change, governance demands, and santri needs in the Society 5.0 era. This study aims to analyze pesantren digital transformation policy as an innovation in Islamic education management. This article employs library research with a qualitative-descriptive approach. The data sources consist of journal articles, academic books, official reports, regulations, and pesantren literature published between 2021 and 2026. Data were analyzed through literature identification, thematic classification, critical interpretation, and conceptual synthesis. The findings indicate that pesantren digital transformation should be understood as an institutional policy covering administrative digitalization, learning, curriculum, santri literacy, digital leadership, and quality assurance. Digital innovation should not erase pesantren identity but strengthen sincerity, independence, scholarly sanad, adab, and public benefit. This study recommends a value-based pesantren digital transformation model emphasizing system integration, human resource capacity building, data security, and continuous quality evaluation.
