Abstract

Data for the study "Climate drivers of influenza activity and their predictive value in a subtropical region: a 21-year time-series study". The dataset contains monthly reported influenza cases in Guangdong Province, China (January 2004 to December 2024, 252 months) and province-averaged monthly meteorological variables derived from the ERA5 reanalysis (mean temperature, relative humidity, absolute humidity, wind speed, precipitation, mean sea-level pressure, sunshine duration and diurnal temperature range). It also contains the intermediate data and results produced by the analysis code: negative binomial distributed lag non-linear models (DLNM) and PLS/PCA climate-component negative binomial prediction models. Contents: README.md (file descriptions and variable dictionary); flu_climate_monthly_2004_2024.csv (analysis dataset); guangdong_flu_climate_data.zip (01_raw, 02_processed, 03_intermediate and 04_results folders). Influenza data source: Guangdong Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the China Public Health Science Data Center. Meteorological data source: ERA5 (Copernicus Climate Change Service, https://doi.org/10.24381/cds.f17050d7). Analysis code: https://github.com/wcs52113140123-pixel/guangdong-flu-climate

The impact of agile practices on communication in software development

The study shows that agile practices improve both informal and formal communication, but indicates that, in larger development situations involving multiple external stakeholders, a mismatch of adequate communication mechanisms can sometimes even hinder the communication.

Trajectory Balance: Improved Credit Assignment in GFlowNets

It is proved that any global minimizer of the trajectory balance objective can define a policy that samples exactly from the target distribution, and empirically demonstrate the benefits of the trajectories balance objective for GFlowNet convergence, diversity of generated samples, and robustness to long action sequenc...
