Desafíos y retos en la Encíclica Magnifica Humanitas
Abstract
The encyclical Magnifica Humanitas of H. H. León XIV reflects on the challenges that artificial intelligence poses to human dignity, emphasizing that technological progress acquires meaning only when it serves the human person and the common good. The document warns about the risks of the technocratic paradigm, the dehumanization of relationships, information manipulation, educational inequalities, and the impact of automation on work. It also proposes a culture of love, solidarity, and justice as the foundation for guiding scientific and technological development. From the perspective of Christian humanism, it highlights the need for an integral education that fosters critical thinking, ethical discernment, and the responsible use of new technologies. Finally, it argues that artificial intelligence should complement, rather than replace, moral responsibility, freedom, and the transcendent vocation of the human person, thereby promoting an authentically human and inclusive form of development.
