Exploring Collective Effects in Small Collision Systems via Light-Flavour Particle Production in High-Multiplicity pp Collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 13 TeV in ALICE
High-multiplicity pp and p-Pb collisions show signatures of radial and anisotropic flow, as well as the enhanced production of strange hadrons. These observations resemble phenomena seen in heavy-ion collisions, where a quark-gluon plasma (QGP) is formed, although their origin in small systems remains under discussion. This contribution presents ALICE Run 2 results on light-flavour hadron ($\pi$, K, p) production in high-multiplicity (HM) pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV, where the charged-particle multiplicity reaches values comparable to peripheral or semi-peripheral Pb-Pb collisions. The multiplicity dependence of $\pi$, K, and p transverse momentum spectra, $p_{\rm T}$-differential and $p_{\rm T}$-integrated particle ratios, and mean transverse momenta ($\langle p_{\rm T}\rangle$) is presented and compared with published results from other collision systems and energies, as well as with PYTHIA 8 and EPOS4 model calculations.
Heavy-ion collisions are primarily studied to investigate the properties of hot and dense primordial nuclear matter, known as the quark--gluon plasma (QGP). However, recent observations of hydrodynamic flow--like behavior in pp and p--Pb collisions at the LHC suggest the possible formation of QGP droplets even in the s...
The fully stripped ions used in heavy-ion collisions at the LHC are an excellent source of high-energy quasi-real photons. These can interact with photons emitted by the oncoming nucleus, or with the nucleus itself, either directly in inelastic processes or diffractively via pomeron exchange. Diffractive photonuclear p...

Beauty-hadron production in proton-nucleus collisions is a particularly powerful probe of cold nuclear matter (CNM) effects: thanks to the large beauty-quark mass, the production is initiated in early hard scatterings and is calculable in perturbative QCD, while the modifications observed in nuclear collisions directly...

We present a microscopic femtoscopic investigation of the space-time emission source in low-multiplicity (80--90\% centrality) $\text{Pb}-\text{Pb}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 5.02~\text{TeV}$, using a hybrid transport framework coupling SMASH initial conditions, 3+1D viscous hydrodynamics (vHLLE), and a SMASH hadr...

Measurements of heavy-flavor baryons in nucleus--nucleus and proton--proton collisions have provided strong evidence that heavy-quark hadronization cannot be described solely in terms of vacuum fragmentation. In particular, the large enhancement of the $\Lambda_c/D^0$, $\Xi_c/D^0$ and $\Omega_c/D^0$ ratios observed at...

High-multiplicity proton–proton and proton–lead collisions at LHC energies feature signatures similar to those observed in \PbPb collisions, such as e.g. strangeness enhancement and collective expansion effects, which are traditionally attributed to the formation of the quark–gluon plasma. One way to study them is thro...
