Abstract

The supply chain is a crucial element in ensuring efficient distribution and marketing flows so that prices can be properly transmitted throughout the marketing chain This study aimed to examine the supply chain structure and marketing efficiency of broiler ducks in the Gampong Kajhu duck farming group, Aceh Besar, to contribute empirical evidence on distribution efficiency and price transmission mechanisms, while informing local agribusiness development policies to enhance farmers’ welfare. This study was conducted at the Gampong Kajhu duck farming group in the Aceh Besar Regency of Aceh Province. The data collection method used was a survey with sampling using saturated sampling, which is a sampling technique in which all members of the population are used as samples. The research parameters were broiler duck marketing distribution channels, marketing efficiency, marketing margins, and farmers’ share. The results showed that there were two marketing channels for broiler ducks in the Gampong Kajhu duck farming in group, Aceh Besar. Channel 1, where farmers sell broiler ducks directly to end consumers, andChannell 2, where farmers sell broiler ducks to agents, who then sell the ducks who thenthe retailers sell the ducks to end consumers. The marketing margin for channel 1 is IDR 0 because farmers sell ducks directly without intermediaries, whereas channel 2 has a marketing margin of IDR 15,000. In terms of Farmer Share, all marketing channels were categorized as efficient, with channel 1 having a farmer share of 100%, channel 2 having a farmer share of 72%, and an efficiency value of 7%, indicating efficient broiler duck marketing channels.
