Although acidic CO2 electroreduction to multicarbon products offers superior carbon utilization compared to alkaline/neutral routes, its performance is severely hampered by proton‐enrichment‐induced hydrogen evolution (HER). To address this issue, we propose a host‐guest cooperative catalysis strategy by constructing a structurally well‐defined Ionic Liquid functionalized Metal‐covalent organic framework (IL@MCOF). Within this architecture, the confined ionic liquid creates a localized high‐concentration CO2 microenvironment and induces interfacial water restructuring, thereby effectively suppressing HER caused by proton enrichment. Meanwhile, non‐covalent interactions between the π‐conjugated framework of MCOF and the IL cations promote directional transport of adsorbed CO2 toward copper active sites. Mechanistic studies further reveal that the MCOF catalytic sites synergize with the guest IL to lower the formation energy barriers of the key C2+ intermediates *COCO and *OCCOH. Consequently, IL@MCOF achieves a record 56.5% Faradaic efficiency with −162 mA cm−2 for C2+ products at −1.8 V versus RHE in acidic media, surpassing all reported MOF‐based acidic catalysts. This work provides a host‐guest molecular engineering approach for highly selective acidic CO2 electroreduction.
ABSTRACT Acidic CO2 electrolysis to formic acid circumvents carbonate formation and enables direct product recovery, yet is hindered by severe competition between formate‐producing *OCHO and hydrogen‐producing *H intermediates. Here, we develop a hierarchical site‐solvation‐transport regulation strategy to direct this...

Electrocatalytic CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) in acidic electrolyte is hindered by severe hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and inefficient C-C coupling, leading to poor selectivity toward multicarbon (C2+) products. Here, we construct a dual-functional interfacial layer by modifying a CuO catalyst with the ionic liq...
The pH‐universality of hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) electrocatalysts enables their cost‐effective and scalable application. Proton behavior regulation enhances HER activity under specific pH conditions, yet achieving pH‐universal performance remains a significant challenge. Here, we propose interfacial proton...

Efficient multielectron electrocatalysis in layered covalent organic frameworks (COFs) is frequently limited by weak cross‐plane charge delivery to pore‐confined active sites. Herein, we report the construction of two metal‐bridged COFs (Py1‐COF‐Cu and Py2‐COF‐Cu) by incorporating nitrogen‐containing heterocycles to fa...
Acidic CO2 electroreduction offers a compelling route to mitigate carbonate formation and improve carbon efficiency, yet the high proton concentration intensifies hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), severely suppressing multi‑carbon (C2+) production. While covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are explored to modulate the...

The electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction (eNRR) is considered a promising approach to sustainable ammonia production compared with the Haber–Bosch process. However, eNRR remains significantly hindered by the extreme stability of the N≡N bond, slow proton‐coupled electron transfer (PCET), and the kinetically...
