Abstract

We consider in this paper complex Lie groups $\mathrm{SL}_n(\mathbb{C})$ for $n\geq 2$, $\mathrm{SO}_n(\mathbb{C})$ for $n\geq 5$, and $\mathrm{Sp}_{2n}(\mathbb{C})$ for $n\geq 1$. We show that for any such Lie group, the Lie algebra of polynomial vector fields can be generated by three $\mathbb{C}$-complete polynomial vector fields.

Algebraic Eisenstein classes for $\mathrm{GL}_n$ with applications to the Bianchi case

Let $L$ be a number field containing a CM field $K$. We compute an explicit current representing the $\mathrm{GL}_{\mathcal{O}_K}(\mathcal{O}_L)$-equivariant algebraic Eisenstein-Kronecker classes constructed by Kings-Sprang. In the Bianchi case, where $K$ is imaginary quadratic and $[L:K]=2$, this yields a purely alge...

Proof of the singularity conjecture for discrete subgroups of $\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{R})$

Let $\mu$ be a finitely supported probability measure on $\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{R})$ whose support generates a Zariski-dense discrete subgroup. We prove that its stationary probability measure on $\mathbb{P}^1(\mathbb{R})$ is singular with respect to the $\mathrm{SO}(2)$-invariant probability measure. The proof compare...

Mod 2 magnitude cohomology ring of real hyperplane arrangements

Let $\mathcal{A}$ be a finite central real hyperplane arrangement and let $\mathcal{G}(\mathcal{A})$ be its tope graph. Koizumi recently proved that the crossing-graded magnitude homology of $\mathcal{G}(\mathcal{A})$ is torsion-free and is freely indexed by face flags. We refine his result by proving that a fixed cros...

Finite-slope p-adic L-functions for $\mathrm{GL}_{3}$

Let $\Pi$ be a regular algebraic cuspidal automorphic representation of $\mathrm{GL}_{3}(\mathbb{A}_{\mathbb{Q}})$ of weight $(a, 0, -a)$, and let $p$ be a prime. Generalising work of Loeffler--Williams in the nearly-ordinary case, we construct $p$-adic $L$-functions for each small slope regular $P_{1}$-refinement of $...

Quadratic fields of values of finite solvable groups

We show that if $G$ is a finite solvable group such that $E = \mathbb Q(\{\chi(g)\, |\, \chi\in{\rm Irr}(G),\ g \in G\})$ is an extension of degree 2 over the rationals, then $E = \mathbb Q(\sqrt{\pm d})$ for a positive integer $d$ all of whose prime divisors lie in $\{2, 3, 5\}$. Moreover, if $G$ has a composition fac...

Flat principal 2-group bundles on $S^2$ and their holonomy

Let $\mathcal{G}(G,A,\alpha)$ be a discrete 2-group, given as the {categorical} extension of an ordinary group $G$ by an abelian group $A$. We define principal $\mathcal{G}$-bundles over a manifold in terms of \v{C}ech data over a good open cover. In the case of the manifold $S^2$, we calculate this bicategory explicit...
