Abstract

This article examines the impact of modern teaching methods on improving the quality of education from both theoretical and practical perspectives. First, the concept of educational quality is explained within the framework of contemporary pedagogical approaches. The study then analyzes the nature and application of problem-based learning, project-based learning, collaborative learning, inquiry-based learning, the flipped classroom model, and digital educational technologies. The findings demonstrate that the implementation of these methods enhances students' cognitive engagement and contributes to the development of analytical and critical thinking, independent decision-making, communication, collaboration, and practical skills. The article also reviews the educational reforms implemented in the Republic of Azerbaijan, the legal and regulatory framework governing the adoption of modern teaching methods, and the initiatives undertaken to support digital transformation in education. Furthermore, it identifies key challenges related to teachers' professional development, the expansion of digital infrastructure, the improvement of assessment systems, and the broader implementation of innovative pedagogical technologies, while proposing possible solutions. The study concludes that the scientifically grounded and systematic application of modern teaching methods makes a significant contribution to improving the quality of education, developing learners' competencies, preparing graduates in accordance with labor market requirements, and enhancing the overall effectiveness of the educational process in higher education institutions.
