TL;DR

It is found that methylation was associated with poor prognosis in multiple myeloma and a trend toward reduced overall survival in the CDH1 methylated and MEG3 unmethylated patient groups suggested that CDH1 promoter hypermethylation and MEG3 promoter unmethylation status may predict poor MM prognoses.

Methylation of the MAPK1 Gene as a Potential Diagnostic and Prognostic Biomarker in Childhood B-Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Background: Acute lymphoblastic leukemia is a type of heterogeneous leukemia that is associated with the abnormal proliferation of immature monoclonal B and T lymphoid precursors. Cancer is considered an epigenetic disease due to fundamental changes in the pattern of normal methylation in cancer cells. This study aimed...

PTGER4 promoter methylation may serve as an independent prognostic biomarker and is associated with response to hypomethylating agents in pediatric acute myeloid leukemia

PTGER4 promoter methylation is a promising prognostic biomarker for pediatric AML and correlates with improved response to HMAs, and could help refine risk stratification and guide individualized treatment decisions, particularly in patients with baseline thrombocytopenia.

DNA methylation status at diagnosis in MDS predicts response to azacitidine.

Epigenetic signatures at distal genomic elements provide superior predictive power for AZA response compared to promoter-centric or transcriptional analyses, and establish a robust framework for personalized treatment strategies in MDS.

Genomic Amplification of CCNE1 Is Associated with an Immunosuppressive Tumor Microenvironment and Adverse Clinical Outcome in High-Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer.

High-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) is the most lethal gynecological malignancy, with a poor 5-year survival rate. Many patients also experience relapse of the disease due to chemotherapy resistance, highlighting an urgent need for new therapeutic modalities. Among the genomic alterations implicated in HGSOC progr...

CDHR5 and UPB1 expression associated with promoter methylation in sarcomatoid differentiated clear cell renal cell carcinoma

Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) represents the most frequent histological subtype of renal cell carcinoma (RCC). Sarcomatoid (de)differentiation is associated with metastatic dissemination and dismal prognosis. Altered DNA methylation occurs during ccRCC progression but a specific role in the emergence of sarco...

A multi-omics integration identifies ENY2 hypomethylation as a driver of immunosuppression and progression in breast cancer.

Aberrant DNA methylation contributes to breast cancer (BC) progression and immune microenvironment dysregulation, but its underlying epigenetic-immune crosstalk remains poorly defined. This study constructed a methylation-driven prognostic signature in BC using the SIMPO algorithm and Cox regression with TCGA cohort da...
