ACESSIBILIDADE NOS GAMES: CONSTRUÇÃO DE UM CONTROLE DE VIDEOGAME PARA PESSOAS COM DEFICIÊNCIAS FÍSICO-MOTORAS
Abstract
: This work presents the development and evaluation of an adaptive video game controller aimed at improving accessibility for individuals with motor disabilities. The proposed solution is based on a modular and reconfigurable architecture, allowing the positioning of input buttons according to individual user needs, thus promoting autonomy and inclusion in digital gaming environments. The methodology consists of an applied experimental approach based on iterative prototyping, including conceptual design, electronic validation, physical prototyping, and user testing. The electronic system is based on a button matrix controlled by a microcontroller, enabling efficient signal acquisition with a reduced number of input pins. The final prototype was developed using flexible materials and conductive elements, enhancing portability and adaptability. Experimental results demonstrated the functional viability of the system, including real interaction with computer games through a USB Human Interface Device (HID) interface. However, limitations were identified, such as the absence of analog input mechanisms and issues related to mechanical durability. The results indicate that the proposed approach is a promising alternative for the development of low-cost assistive technologies, contributing to digital inclusion and equitable access to digital games.
