Nanoelectrodes for real time sensing of chemical and electrical signals in cells
Abstract
We present nanoelectronic platforms for real-time cellular analytics that enable simultaneous electrical and electrochemical measurements at the single-cell level. Using nanofabricated electrode arrays, we record electrophysiological activity from neurons and cardiomyocytes while integrating sensing modalities for key biochemical signals, including dopamine and potassium. These systems combine high spatial resolution with scalable device architectures, enabling parallel measurements across cell populations. Our approach provides a versatile framework for studying cellular function, heterogeneity, and response to perturbations, with applications in neuroscience, cardiovascular research, and drug screening.
