PENERAPAN ALGORITMA CERTAINTY FACTOR UNTUK DIAGNOSA PENYAKIT KULIT MANUSIA BERBASIS WEB

Abstract

Skin disorders are common health problems that are often difficult to identify independently without medical assistance, particularly when access to specialist doctors is limited. This study focuses on developing a web-based application for the preliminary diagnosis of human skin disorders using the Certainty Factor (CF) approach. In its mechanism, the expert's degree of confidence in each symptom is represented by a numerical certainty value for the diagnosis. The knowledge base is developed from dermatological information covering disease categories, symptom indicators, and their corresponding certainty weights. Subsequently, the inference engine processes user inputs to determine the possible conditions experienced. The results indicate that the developed application can provide relatively good diagnostic accuracy and has the potential to serve as an early screening tool for the community before further consultation with medical professionals.
