Implementing an ERP System for Disaster Preparedness: Zoho

Aug 2026 · ICT Latin America · 0 citations

Abstract

This paper examines the implementation of a cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning system to support disaster preparedness and business continuity in regions highly susceptible to natural disasters. Focusing on Zoho as a case study, the analysis highlights how integrated, cloud-based solutions can ensure data availability, operational resilience, and information security during and after disruptive events like hurricanes. Key selection criteria, including cloud accessibility, security and compliance, scalability, user experience, and cost-effectiveness, are evaluated to demonstrate Zoho’s suitability for organizations that provide critical goods and services. Additionally, it emphasizes the importance of aligning ERP implementation with established frameworks and guidance from organizations such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and the World Meteorological Organization to strengthen disaster readiness.
