TEACHER TRAINING IN CONTEMPORARY TIMES: CHALLENGES AND PERSPECTIVES FOR EDUCATIONAL PRACTICE
Abstract
Teacher training in contemporary times is one of the main debates in the educational field, especially in light of the social, technological, and cultural transformations that directly impact teaching and learning processes. Teaching practice now demands competencies that go beyond mastery of school content, also encompassing skills related to pedagogical mediation, the critical use of digital technologies, educational inclusion, and the construction of innovative practices geared towards the demands of today's society. Thus, it becomes necessary to reflect on the challenges faced by education professionals, especially regarding teacher appreciation, continuing education, and the adaptation of teaching methodologies to different school realities. Perspectives on educational practice point to the need for critical, humanized training committed to the construction of knowledge and the integral development of students. This study aims to discuss the main challenges and perspectives related to teacher training in contemporary times and its implications for educational practice. The methodology used is based on a bibliographic literature review, with a survey of academic productions related to the theme. It is concluded that teacher training needs to keep pace with social and educational changes, strengthening more reflective and inclusive pedagogical practices that are aligned with the demands of the current context.
