Cardiac fibrosis is a major pathological basis of many cardiovascular diseases and growing evidence shows that C-P4H and its related subunits are abnormally expressed in several cardiac diseases linked to fibrosis and are closely associated with disease development.
This review summarizes the regulatory roles of TSP-2 in myocardial fibrosis under various cardiac disease conditions and discusses its potential molecular mechanisms, and highlights the potential of TSP-2 as a therapeutic target.

Renal fibrosis is a major morphological feature of chronic kidney disease and is considered an important pathogenetic process that leads to a decline in renal function in the progressive course of the disease. It is characterized by excessive accumulation of extracellular matrix, tubular atrophy, interstitial inflammat...

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body and a vital component of the extracellular matrix (ECM), where it maintains structural architecture, strength, and mechanical stability throughout the body. Collagen undergoes continuous turnover and remodeling mediated by matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and othe...

Platelets are a major reservoir of bioactive mediators, including growth factors such as transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1), that regulate vascular repair and tissue remodeling. Beyond these classical functions, platelets also participate in inflammatory hemostasis through activation pathways that differ from those...
